- Looking for Happiness and Finding FaithArthur C. Brooks is the Louis A. Bantle Professor of Business and Government Policy at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Whitman School of Management. He is also a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. Brooks earned a doctoral degree in public policy analysis from the Rand Graduate School in 1998, and also holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in economics. - “What Worries Me Now” Thomas S. Johnson, former chairman and chief executive officer of GreenPoint Financial Corp. and GreenPoint Bank in New York, delivered the Madden Lecture on Monday, April 23. Prior to joining GreenPoint, Johnson served as president and director at Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Chemical Bank. He also served as special assistant to the comptroller at the U.S. Department of Defense. Johnson is a board member and chairman of the executive committee of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation (WTCMF). He holds a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College, and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.A podcast of the lecture is also available.
- How Social Entrepreneurs are Changing Our World Sponsored by the The Madden Institute at Le Moyne College, the lecture by Dr. Andrew Kuper focused on adopting an entrepreneurial approach to solving social problems on a large scale. The author of two books on
globalization, democracy and human rights, Dr. Kuper specializes in public-private partnerships. (November 2, 2006). A podcast of the lecture is also available.

chair of the Le Moyne College Board of Trustees, and from Dr. George
Burman, former dean of the School of Business at Syracuse University
