SEAL Data Acquistion Policies and Application
POLICIES
- Because data acquistion resources are limited, SEAL strongly encourages
faculty to work with the SEAL Director to develop joint funding arrangements.
- 2. Subject to the terms of purchase agreements, when data are acquired
with SEAL funds, the data will be:
- a. considered College property;
- b.cataloged with the SEAL Assistant Director in the College Library
and made available to interested faculty and students of Le Moyne
College.
- 3. Faculty who acquire data with SEAL funds will describe the data
and its applications for interested faculty and students at an informal
seminar to be sponsored by SEAL. A brief written abstract of this
presentation will be filed with the SEAL Assistant Director.
- 4. Before SEAL funds are approved for data acquiistion, the person
applying for the funds must indicate that he/she has consulted with
the SEAL Assistant Director and Director to determine whether the
needed data are available without charge through the Internet or other
sources.
APPLICATION
1. Before completing this application, you should consult with
the SEAL Director and Assistant Director to determine whether the
data you are requesting are available without cost through the Internet
or other sources (see Policy 4)
2. After this form is submitted to the SEAL Director, please
schedule a meeting with the Director to develop a joint-funding plan
for the acquistion of the data.
