Advanced Placement Tests and College Credit Policies

The following is a statement for the College's policies with regard to Advanced Placement credit. For some courses, Le Moyne College makes its decision to accept AP credit based solely on the test score. However, in many cases the department chooses to review the test results directly. The company that develops, administers and grades the AP exams, educational Testing Services (ETS), has changed its procedures. Students must now formally request the test booklet, pay a fee to ETS to have the booklet sent to them, and send or bring the booklet to the appropriate chairperson. That will be your responsibility. Also, since test booklets are not held indefinitely by ETS, you should request them at the earliest possible time if a Department review is necessary. Expect a two-week delay. Contact the Registrars office 315-445-4455 if you want to discuss these procedures.
