A.S.I.A.

ASIA ia an organization intened to represent and promote an awareness and appreciation of Asian culture. Membership is open to all student who share an interest in the culture and issues facing Asian-American students.

Accounting Society

This organization gives students the opportunity to meet accounting practitioners of various professional disciplines. Alumni frequently return to campus and share work exeriences. Meetings are open to all accounting majors.

Administrative Forum

The Administrative Forum will serve as an advisory group to enhance communication between administrative personnel and the President’s Administrative Council. Members will represent and act as a liaison to each division: ( •Two - Academic Affairs •One - Campus Ministry •Two - Enrollment Mgt. •Two - Finance & Admin. •Two - Inst. Advancement •Two - Information Tech. •Two - Student Development ) Purposes: 1.Bring to the attn of the Administrative Council issues of general concern and / or interest to administrative personnel. 2. Study issues of an administrative nature affecting the campus as a whole and report findings, recommendations, etc. 3.Recommend administrative appointees to various College committees. 4.Provide recommendations for training and other programs to enhance personal and professional development of the administrative personnel. 5.We will encourage and promote service to the community.

Amnesty International

A non-political organization dedicated to the work of advocacy on behalf of prisoners of conscience. We promote campus networks so that during the academic year students can participate in the organization's work. The purpose of the campus network at Le Moyne is two-fold: to help in the work that the organization carries out and to allow students to learn about the world situation regarding prisoners of conscience. Membership is open to the entire Le Moyne community.

Anthropology Society

To foster an interest in the field of anthropology, to provide a common meeting ground for those persons, and to facilitate communications among those persons.

Art Society

The Le Moyne College Art Club provides an opportunity for the student body and faculty to further their creative pursuits, and it leads to the aesthetic enhancement of the entire college. Club activities explore many facets of art, including drawing, painting, and photography, through participation and display. as such, the Art Club serves as a supplement to the Le Moyne College fine arts department and as a creative organization for social interaction and expression. The activities of the club culminate in an annual student art show in the Le Moyne College library during the spring semester.

B.O.N.D.

Brothers of a New Direction. Raise awareness of issues of students of color, particularly men of color on Le Moyne campus. Moderator, Carl Thomas.

Biology Society

The Biology Society is an organization whose purposes are to promote student interest and participation in the life sciences and to provide a social venue through which students may explore shared interests and make new acquaintances. The Biology Society sponsors a variety of events and activities throughout the year, and also assists freshman biology students adjust to college life.

Black Robe Yearbook

The Black Robe, the Le Moyne yearbook, is published by Le Moyne students. All students are eligible to join the staff and may do so by applying to the editor-in-chief. Underclass students are urged to participate to ensure staff continuity. This publication provides students with experience in areas such as photography, editing, writing, and graphic arts.

To provide the Le Moyne College Community with the opportunity to participate in and view quality dramatic works in a professional atmosphere.

Business Club

Designed for students intersted in business, the club provides an outlet for businesses to contribute information on current and upcoming professional practices. The club promotes interaction among students, faculty, and business professionals. Membership is open to the Le Moyne community.

Cabaret Club

Cabaret Club is an organization which plans the annual cabaret show on campus at Le Moyne.

Chapel Choir

The Chapel Choir is affiliated with Campus Ministry. The Choir is composed of singers and instrumentalists who rehearse weekly to lead the congregation at the 7:00PM Sunday Mass. The Choir also sings at other liturgical events throughout the year. Songleaders and instrumentalists are also trained to lead the singing at the other Sunday Masses. An organizational meeting is held at the beginning of every school year for all singers and instrumentalists interested in the music ministry.

Chemistry Club

The Chemistry Club is open to all members of the Le Moyne community who major in the sciences. The club sponsors lecturers from both industrial and academic circles, giving students an awareness of current trends in chemistry. The club is a student affiliate organization of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and makes ACS information and membership available to qualified students.

Commuter Student Organization

Senate subcomittee which represents the interests of the more than 700 commuter students at Le Moyne. Open to all commuter students.

Creating Awareness and Reaching for Equality

The objective of Creating Awareness and Reaching for Equality is to provide the Le Moyne College Community with information on Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transsexual/Questioning (GLBTQ) issues and concerns. We hope that circulating such information will lead to a greater understanding of the GLBTQ Community which will in return aid to struggle against homophobia itself.

Crime Club

The Crime Club is an organization at Le Moyne that tries to enhance student interest in crime-related career fields. Trips and guest speakers are planned and we would also love suggestions from other students and club members concerning activities.

Dolphin Newspaper

The Dolphin is published weekly by the students of Le Moyne College. Students from all classes and majors are encouraged to join the paper, regardless of previous experience. The Dolphin provides students with experience in writing, editing, and photography. Anyone interested in joining the paper should contact the editor-in-chief.

Dolphin Steppers

The Dolphin Steppers use various creative mediums, including step routines, to help bring about a greater understanding and appreciation for diversity on campus and the surrounding community. The theme of the Dolphin Steppers is Unity through Diversity. It should be understood that the arts are simply a means by which the group chooses to convey its message. They consider themselves educators as well as performers. While they promote cultural awareness, the Dolphin Steppers focus more on similarities between people rather than differences. For this reason they consider themselves a united team.

Economics Club

The Economics Club sponsors two outside speakers per year, holds four social meetings and sponsors an off-campus trip to an area of interest such as a Federal Reserve bank, the New York Stock Exchange and government and business agencies in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere. The Economics Club also acts as an information center for careers in economics, opportunities for graduate study, and current job openings. Membership is open to all Le Moyne students with an interest in economics.

Education Club

This club informs students of current issues in the field of education and teacher preparation. The club's primary resources are the education department, alumni, and experts in the field who discuss various education related topics. Club activities and membership are open to all students in education courses, minors in education, and to all interested students enrolled at Le Moyne College.

El Progreso

El Progreso is an organization whose purposes are to represent and explore Latino issues and cultures, to unite students who are interested in Latino issues, and to develop a network with community groups and other colleges. Membership is open to any Le Moyne student.

English Club

The English Club participates in reading groups and movie discussion groups throughout the semester. It also organizes a trip to the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, each Fall.

Environmental Coalition

To foster an appreciation of the outdoors and an awareness of environmental problems through a variety of outdoor activities and environmentally concerned events. Membership is open to all members of the Le Moyne community.

Flim Club is a group of students from all majors who enjoy films and want to engage in discussions about films of all genres, from recent independent titles to classic film.

French Club

A group for lovers of the French language and culture in French speaking Countries around the world. A chance to hang out and practice spoken French as well as maybe do some kinds of activities, mmmmm food! Sign up if you're interested, Email us with questions!

Gaelic Society

The Gaelic Society's purpose is the promotion of the customs and culture of the Irish people. The Gaelic Society attempts, through various programming activities, to heighten students' understanding of Ireland- past and present. In cooperation with local Syracuse Irish groups, the society participates in the St. Patrick's Day parade and other community events. Membership is open to all Le Moyne students.

German Club

The purpose of this club is to nurture and spread interest in the German language and cultures of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria in the college community. Membership is open to all members of the Le Moyne community who have an interest in the language and cultures of the German speaking countries.

Habitat for Humanity

Theough fundraising, education, and building assistance, Habitat for Humanity- Le Moyne College Chapter works with the Syracuse Chapter and Habitat for Humanity international to forward the mission of providing adequate housing and creating healthy communities for those in need.

History Academy

The History Academy encourages the pursuit of studying history beyond the classroom. Whether by discussing future endeavors such as graduate schools or law schools, the History Academy strives to sponsor events which interest students regardless of their major.

Ignatian House

Since its inception, Ignatian House (International House) has served as a medium for carrying out the ideals of Christian social action. The house is a community with the members working, studying and sharing their experiences together. In focusing on the needs of the inner city, the members have developed a wide range of programs involving work with the aged, the homeless and the underprivledged. In an effort to bring important issues to the Le Moyne College community, International House sponsors a series of speakers, films, information desks and student-faculty dinners throughout the year. Liturgies are held to celebrate the unity in Christ necessary for true Christian social action. During the between-semester vacation, members travel to Appalachia and inner-city Philadelphia to serve those in poverty.

Instrumental Band

Pep Band: The Le Moyne College Pep Band, also known as the "Fanatical Fin Fraternity," is a subdivision of the Le Moyne Instrumental Group and performs at home basketball games as well as occasional, special programs on campus. As an entirely student-led activity, the success of the group originates from the enthusiasm of its members. The Pep Band's invigorating music adds a positive atmosphere to to home games. Jazz Ensemble: Under the direction of Mr. John Spillet, the members of the Le Moyne College Jazz Ensemble endeavor to spread their knowledge and love of music to the entire campus and surrounding community. Performing in various group and individual concerts on campus, the ensemble showcases a variety of music, including songs from the classic big band era to latin calypso beats. The Jazz Ensemble continually strives to make its presence known by playing at local businesses, establishments, and festivals.

International Club

The purpose of this club is to assist students from other countries in making a smooth transition to Le Moyne College. The club serves as a support for international students by providing information on visas, travel, and life in the United States. Students are encouraged to share their various traditions and learn about other cultures, including American culture. Membership is open to all members of the Le Moyne College community. Italian-American Society

The purpose of this student-run organization is to represent and expose Italian-American issues and culture to the Le Moyne community, by carefully planning and presenting educational, social, and recreational functiions and events. The Italian-American Society also attempts to develop a close working relationship with Italian-American cultural groups and institutions. Membership is open to all Le Moyne students.

Le Moyne College Gaming Society

Le Moyne Students get together once or twice a month and play various card and video games. (Poker, pitch, Halo, Madden, etc.)

Le Moyne College Investment Club

LCIC exists to enhance the overall financial knowledge of its members. Using various media sources, members will facilitate sound investments to help develop skills that can serve as a foundation in the financial world. Members can compete in a simulation, or invest in and manage a real money portfolio.

Le Moyne College Medieval Round Table

For students to meet who have an interest in all things Medieval, such as literature, films, dress, culture and history in order to discuss these things in a scholarly setting.

Le Moyne College Pre-Health Society

For those students interested in pursuing a health career in areas such as physicians, dentists and hospital management.

Le Moyne College Republicans

Le Moyne College Students interested in the politics of the Republican Party.

Le Moyne College Singers

The Le Moyne College Singers specialize in both classical and vocal jazz repertoire and is open to singers from the entire Le Moyne community including students, faculty, and staff. Rehearsals are held twice a week, with concerts scheduled toward the end of each semester.

Le Moyne Dance Team

To provide an invironment for students who share the same intrests in dance to gather and perform. To provide entertainment during half times of home basketball games and to encourage school spirit and participation in school sporting events.

Le Moyne Democrats

For Students Of All Majors Who Are Interested In Becoming Part Of And Expanding The Democratic Party at the local, state, and national level. The club deals with Current Political Events as well as the great history of the Democratic Party. All are welcome to join!

Le Moyne Student Dance Company

Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester. Classes meet weekly to study ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and modern dance. In addition to choreographed dance times, classes are held weekly for technique advancement. Students with experience will have the opportunity to instruct as well as choreograph. All dancers collaborate and plan performances. Performances are held once per semester. LSDC was created to meet the needs of students who are interested in the study of dance and sharing their experiences.

Le Moyne Student Programming Board

The Le Moyne Student Programming Board is a standing committee of the Student Senate and is responsible for providing a variety of social and cultural activities for Le Moyne students. All meetings are open to Le Moyne students.

Literary and Graphic Arts Society

The purpose of the society is to encourage literary and artistic creativity in the Le Moyne College community and to publish outstanding student work in an annual journal. Each semester, short stories, poems, scripts, informal essays, and art work of all kinds are solicited for publication in the "Salamander."

This club's purpose is to stimulate interest in marketing. Both an academic and social organization, the club provides a transition between the classroom and the practicing profession. Membership is open to the entire Le Moyne College community.

MIS Club

The main focus of Le Moyne Information Systems Club (LMISC) is students that are interested in learning about or being a part of some aspect of the Information Systems industry. With students representing all concentrations, the club encourages a cross-functional experience. The club brings together those students interested in sharing contemporary issues in information systems management and focuses on careers in information systems, networking with professionals in the field, and using and developing current technologies.

Modern Language Alliance

The Modern Language Alliance is open to all members of the Le Moyne community studying languages, and to others having an interest in the language, culture, and customs of French, Spanish, Italian, German, or Japanese speaking nations. MLA fosters an appreciation of culture foreign to American students and offers a forum for the discussion of issues not covered in language classes.

Muslim Students Association

As salaamu alaikum! = Peace be upon you. We are an official chapter of the nation-wide Muslim Students Association. Our goal is to promote the ideas of Islam but also to bring Muslims and non-Muslims together to diminish the misconceptions people often have about others' religions. For this reason, the MSA is open to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Organizational Finance and Review Committee

This organization is a standing committee of the Student Senate. Membership consists of the student vice-president as chair serving as a non-voting member, the Student Senate comptroller and two representatives from each class. All class members are eligible for membership. The committe's purpose is to consider the registration of new clubs/organizations consistent with the College's ideals and to allocate budgets on an annual basis to ensure club viability and operation to meet stated objectives.

Our Expressions

Our Expressions is a newsletter produced by the multicultural community at Le Moyne. The newsletter enhances all cultures: Latino, African-American, Native American, Italian, Irish, Greek, and others. Our Expressions seeks to promote an awareness of different cultures and races on campus through poetry, prose, and short stories, lectures and a wide spectrum of activities.

Outing Club

Through outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, caving, and canoeing the Le Moyne College Outing Club promotes community building, personal development, and appreciation for the outdoors, and the learning of technical skills. Membership is open to the entire le Moyne community.

P.O.W.E.R.

P.O.W.E.R is an organization with a two-fold purpose. First, it assists students of color to maintain their cultural identity. Second, it fosters respect and appreciation for all cultures by providing a variety of multicultural activities for the wider Le Moyne community. Membership is open to any interested student enrolled at Le Moyne.

Philosphy Symposium

The purpose of the Society shall be to serve as a means of awarding distinction to students having high scholarship and personal interest in philosophy and to promote research and advance study in the field.

Physics Club

The Physics Club gives students the opportunity to pursue their interest in physics beyond the classroom and promotes an appreciation for and understanding of the physical sciences among members of the LeMoyne community. The club is a chapter of the Society of Physics Students, the student section of the American Institute of Physics. Membership is open to all LeMoyne students.

Political Science Academy

The Political Science Academy, which is open to all students, aims to develop and promote student awareness of, knowledge regarding and participation in the political system. Field trips, speakers, topical discussions, debates, workshops, and social activities are planned throughout the school year.

Pre Law Society

The goal of Le Moyne College's Pre-Law Society is to educate students and faculty alike in the area of law. We hope that students who possess an interest to attend law school after Le Moyne College, or enter a career associated with law, will be better prepared for a law oriented life than they were before they began their education at Le Moyne College.

Projects in the Community

PIC was established at Le Moyne in 1969 to send Le Moyne students into the Syracuse community on a volunteer basis. PIC provides the structure for students to participate in Christian social action by volunteering their services as tutors, recreation aides and friends of senior citizens. Membership is open to all students interested in helping their community. Students should inquire at the Campus Ministry Center.

Psychology Club

The club educates Le Moyne students in the field of psychology by extending their knowledge beyond the class material to new topics in psychology. This is done through films, lectures, panels, and student interaction. The club also helps to inform psychology majors about graduate school and career options.

R.A.D.I.C.A.L.

Student group to raise awareness of people living with disabilities.

Red Cross Club

To promote interest in cmmunity service and action, local and international disaster relief, student volunteering and campus involvement, etc.

Religious Studies Academy

The prime goal of the Religious Studies Academy is to provide religious studies major, minors, and all other students interested in the academic of religion(s) with a forum for exploration of common interests, research and professional goals with respect to the academic study of religion.

Residence Hall Association (RHA)

Le Moyne College Residence Hall Association Mission Statement: The Purpose of RHA shall be to enhance and improve Residence Life at Le Moyne College. RHA and its members shall be dedicated to planning events, upholding policies, and facilitating reforms on campus. RHA will work to create a point of communication and representation amongst residential students in order to express ideas and concerns regarding residence life. RHA is open to all resident students of Le Moyne College who are dedicated to creating a unified voice which speaks to improving residence life at Le Moyne College.

Sigma Pi Sigma

Sigma Pi Sigma is the Physics National Honor Society. Sigma Pi Sigma chapters are restricted to colleges and universities that offer a strong physics major. The chapters receive into membership undergraduate and graduate students, and a few others in closely related fields. Students elected to membership must attain high standards (at LeMoyne usually only those in the top third of their class) and outstanding achievement in physics.

Ski Club

The purpose of the Ski Club is to provide an opportunity for Le Moyne students to ski.

Societas Classicas Le Moynesis

Societas Classicas Le Moynesis works to promote the classics at Le Moyne. This applies to the classical languages of Greek and Latin, an extracirricular forum for students interested in the classics langauges and civilization, and to facilitate social contacts among the students with that interest. It is not necessary for anyone to have linguistic experience in Latin or Greek in order to join, and invitation is open to everyone.

Society for Human Resources Management

This organization is a student chapter of the national Society for Human Resources Management, a non-profit association for human resource management professionals. The chapter provides a variety of programs, including guest lecturers, attendance at local SHRM meetings, trips to the national SHRM conference, discussions and social events. Membership is open to any student interested in a career in human resource management.

To strengthen the relationship between students and alumni by educating students about their rights and responsibilities upon graduation from the college and by increasing alumni awareness of Le Moyne activities and events. Furthermore, the SAA is committed, with the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations providing its backround, to: establish and maintain a healthy bond between the Alumni Board of Governors and the SAA; enrich the quality of the College as an institution of higher education by engendering pride, loyalty, and support in its tradition and history; and promote the interests of and understanding among the students of the past, present, and guture of Le Moyne College.

Student Senate

Voice of the students; The Student Senate is responsible for student-life policy legislation. It is responsible for initiating or being consulted on general student-life legislation, judicial procedures, residence hall policy and the selection of candidates for many administrative offices.

Tae Kwon Do

The Tae Kwon Do team. No experience necessary needed to join. Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the AC

Theatre at Le Moyne

Theatre at Le Moyne encompasses two very active student groups on campus. Boot and Buskin presents main stage productions that are professionally directed and designed. Major Arcana is organized and produced by the students that participate. They select, direct, design and sometimes write their own productions. Theatre at Le Moyne is where students have the opportunity to have a full hands on experience of every aspect of theatre.

Voices of Power

Voices of Power is a 3-part gospel choir whose purpose is to spread the word of Jesus Christ through song. We hold 2 annual events on campus which are our revival in the fall semester and our anniversary in the spring. We are also invited to other college campuses through out the year to sing and fellowship with them. V.O.P. is a great opprotunity to meet and fellowship with new people and to grow in your faith.
