Professor Brady teaches courses on Renaissance Literature, Literature and Science, and Nonfiction Writing; she also teaches in the Integral Honors Program. She researches and writes about 17^th century British literature, the history of nonfiction prose, literature and science, and disability studies; her work has appeared in Milton Studies, Milton Quarterly, and Philological Quarterly. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy from St. John’s College and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa; her students are often amused to learn that she has an undergraduate minor in mathematics.

Kate Costello-Sullivan joined the Le Moyne faculty in 2004 after completing her Ph.D. in English at Boston College.  She holds an M.A. in English through the Irish Studies Program at B.C. and a B.A. in English and Spanish from Rutgers. Costello-Sullivan's research interests include 19th and 20th Century Irish fiction, Victorian literature, and postcolonial theory, with corollary interests in Anglo-Irish women's fiction and gender theory. She has published work on authors including Molly Keane, Maria Edgeworth, Jonathan Swift, Rudyard Kipling, and Colm Tóibín.

Michael Davis specializes in Victorian and Modern literature with particular interests in sexuality, aesthetics, psychoanalysis, and narrative theory. He is currently completing a book on Walter Pater called “Walter Pater’s ‘Latent Intelligence’ and the Conception of Queer ‘Theory,’” and another book on Virginia Woolf called “Dating Mrs Dalloway: Self-Reflexion, Suicide, and the Ends of Modern Fiction.” He is also interested in contemporary critical and cultural theory.

In addition to 29 years of teaching literature, journalism, and other communication-related courses, Dr. Alan Fischler's professional background includes work as a magazine editor and as manager of a technical communication department, as well as experience with several newspapers. His research and scholarship are focused on Victorian drama, and his publications include a book on W. S. Gilbert. Dr. Fischler earned his A.B. at Cornell University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Rochester. He has taught at Le Moyne since 1988.

Dr. Jennifer Gurley

Jennifer Gurley specializes in American literature and American philosophy before 1900 and has secondary research and teaching interests in classics, Shakespeare, and the literature of 19th-century Mexican-American California. She is currently teaching a course organized around the question "Why Do Humans Write?" that is supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Enduring Questions Program, and in summer 2013 she will co-direct an NEH Summer Philosophy Institute for High School Teachers at the University of Virginia. Her work has appeared in ESQ: A Journal of the American Renaissance, Philosophy and Literature, and elsewhere, and she has written a basic English grammar that revives the art of sentence diagramming. She has two books underway, one on Ralph Waldo Emerson as a religious writer and another on the American Transcendentalist poets.

Dr. Jim Hannan

Jim Hannan's research interests include contemporary world literature in English and globalization. He has published articles on the Caribbean writers Derek Walcott and Pauline Melville (forthcoming), and is finishing an article on Dionne Brand. His reviews of recent poetry and fiction from the Caribbean, South Africa, and South Asia appear frequently in World Literature Today. He is working on a book called Global Naipaul: Problems in the Production of Global Literature Research trips to South Africa (2007) and India (2008) have enriched his courses at Le Moyne.

Dr. Patrick Keane

Pat Keane was born and (more or less) grew up in The Bronx. He graduated from Fordham University and, after a three year stint in the Army, completed his Ph.D. at New York University. He has taught at Skidmore and, since 1978, at  Le Moyne.

Though he also teaches core courses, his areas of specialization are the Romantic Period, the Irish Renaissance, and the interaction of literature and history. His books include a study of Robert Graves ( A Wild Civility, 1980), Yeats's Interactions with Tradition (1987), a study of Irish political mythology (A Terrible Beauty, 1988), Coleridge's Submerged Politics (1994), and a forthcoming volume on the Irish leader Michael Collins, entitled Murderous Angel.

David Lloyd is a professor of English and director of the Creative Writing Program at Le Moyne. He holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence University, an M.F.A. from the University of Vermont, an M.A. (Creative Writing, Fiction) from Brown University, and a Ph.D. from Brown University.

His primary teaching interests are in creative writing, modern/contemporary poetry and fiction, and Irish/Welsh studies.

His anthology, The Urgency of Identity: Contemporary English-language Poetry from Wales, was published in 1994 by TriQuarterly Books/Northwestern University Press, and he publishes poetry, fiction, critical articles, and interviews in journals and anthologies in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Roger D. Lund is Professor of English. He holds a B.A. from the University of Denver, an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. Linda Pennisi teaches the creative writing program's introductory level Creative Writing Workshop (ENG/CRW 385) and Advanced Poetry Workshop (ENG/CRW 391). She has published two award-winning collections of poems, Seamless (Perugia Press, 2003) and Suddenly, Fruit (Carolina Wren Press, 2006).  Among her interests are creative writing as it relates to medical care and writing about place.

Dr. Miles Taylor

Miles Taylor joined Le Moyne College in 2003.  He completed his Ph.D. in English literature at the University of Oregon, writing his doctoral thesis on the renaissance English history play.  Miles earned his B.A. from a sister Jesuit institution, Seattle University.

His research interests include renaissance and contemporary drama.  He has published essays on several Jacobean and Caroline playwrights, including Thomas Dekker, John Ford, and Richard Brome.  He is currently at work on a book-length project that explores metatheatricality (theatrical depictions of theatre) in seventeenth-century English drama.
