2014

  • Dr. Jennifer Glancy (Religious Studies/McDevitt Core Professor) has been accepted to participate in the "Mortality: Facing Death in Ancient Greece" NEH Summer Institute. 

2013 

  • Dr. Jennifer Gurley(Associate McDevitt Chair, English) has received a $12,000 Digital Humanities Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to develop a website titled "Teaching American Philosophy."  The site will be featured on the NEH's "EDSITEment!" webpage (http://edsitement.neh.gov), a resource for high school teachers that features "the best of the humanities on the web" and receives over 3 million hits per year.
  • Dr. Jennifer Glancy (Religious Studies) and Dr. Karmen MacKendrick (Associate McDevitt Chair, Philosophy) have received funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities Enduring Questions grant program to develop an interdisciplinary core course addressing the question, "What does prayer do?"  Each semester the couse is taught during the grant period the McDevitt Center for Creativity and Innovation will fund one relevant public lecture by a visiting scholar, a lecture directly linked both to course content and the McDevitt Center's focus on fostering campus-wide conversations about religion and science.
