Katie Conroy
Recipient of the prestigious Fulbright scholarship and Le Moyne's first triple major, Katie Conroy has seen her passport stamped in nearly 20 countries, including Spain, the Principality of Monaco and the Czech Republic. (Her Spanish is stronger than her Czech, she admits.) What lies ahead, though, for this 2008 graduate may be her greatest adventure.

In February 2009, Conroy headed to Argentina to teach courses in English and American culture as well as to conduct research as part of the State Department’s Fulbright Program. As important as the work Conroy did was the role she played in helping to promote cultural awareness – a key component of the Fulbright Program since its founding in the late 1940s.
“You can learn so much about other people and places in a classroom, and that’s wonderful,” Conroy says, “but there’s no substitute for being there.”
