Le Moyne College Holds Physician Assistant Program Graduation

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … The Physician Assistant Program at Le Moyne College holds its White Coat Ceremony for the graduating class of 2011 on Friday, Aug. 12, at 1:45 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium. Prior to the ceremony, there will be a poster presentation in the Dolphin Den, Grewen Hall, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

The class of 2011 ranked 15th in the nation on the Physician Assistant Clinical Knowledge Rating Assessment Test (PACKRAT), a national standardized examination that predicts success on board examinations. They have also been involved in numerous philanthropic activities, including:

• Raised money for Poverello Health Center
• Raised money for Amaus Health Services
• Held multiple blood drives for the American Red Cross
• Donated money to the American Academy of Physician Assistants to support a book drive
• Participated in the Tamale fundraiser for the Eastern Farm Workers

In addition, five students in the class of 2011 presented a poster at the National American Academy of Physician Assistants meeting in Las Vegas this spring, titled “Relationship between Patient Education and Patients' Knowledge about the Dangers of Maternal Smoking during Pregnancy.”
