Le Moyne College Student Accepted at National Theater Institute
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College student Rhiannon Williams ’13 has been accepted into the spring 2012 semester of the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Conn.
The National Theater Institute (NTI) – founded at the O’Neill in 1970 – trains young theater artists through an intensive, credit-earning curriculum taught by professional artists and master teachers from the U.S. and abroad. In this 14-week study program, classes are held seven days a week from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. with a 7:30 a.m. warm-up six days a week. This rigorous, conservatory-based approach to theater training exposes students to a broad range of theater styles and techniques. Coursework is rooted in five primary disciplines: acting, directing, playwriting, design and movement and voice.
Two weeks of the semester will be spent abroad, training at one of Russia’s most elite theater schools, the St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy.
Williams majors in theatre arts at Le Moyne and serves as special events coordinator for Boot ‘n’ Buskin Theatre Troupe and Major Arcana.
