Le Moyne and OCC Announce 2+2 Partnership Agreement

Le Moyne and Onondaga Community College have announced a “2+2 partnership agreement that allows students who earn their associate degree at Onondaga to transfer to Le Moyne with junior status. Onondaga President Dr. Casey Crabill and Le Moyne President Dr. Fred P. Pestello made the announcement at a ceremony that took place on Monday, Sept. 23 at OCC.

Effective immediately students can register for the new 2+2 program, which will require them to complete two years of prescribed coursework at Onondaga for an associate degree, and continue on with coursework to earn a bachelor’s degree at Le Moyne in just two years.

The agreement covers four degree programs at OCC, including business administration, computer science, liberal arts: humanities and social sciences, and liberal arts: mathematics and science. A total of 34 Le Moyne degree programs are part of the agreement including accounting, economics, environmental studies, political science, and biochemistry.

Students enrolled in the 2+2 program will receive academic advising from both Le Moyne and OCC advisors throughout the program. Le Moyne has a similar agreement with Monroe Community College, which was announced in August 2013.With today’s signing Onondaga now has 2+2 agreements with five schools including the University at Buffalo, St. John Fisher, SUNY Alfred, and Syracuse University.

“This partnership with Onondaga Community College will benefit students and both institutions immensely,” said President Fred Pestello. “Based on students who have already transferred here after first attending OCC, our experience is that they have performed at high levels at Le Moyne. We look forward to welcoming more OCC students to our campus.”

“We are excited about our new partnership with Le Moyne and the opportunities it presents out students. This agreement creates a wonderful opportunity for students to begin their college education here at Onondaga and seamlessly transfer. Le Moyne is a tremendous institution and we are thrilled to be working with them to create pathways to success for students,” said Crabill.
