Le Moyne College to Host Lecture on Yeats

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a lecture by Rob Doggett, assistant professor of English at the State University of New York at Geneseo, on Thursday, February 22, at 4:30 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium. His talk is titled “Nationhood and William Butler Yeats’ ‘The Tower.’”<br /> <br /> Doggett’s analysis of Yeats, “Deep-Rooted Things: Empire and Nation in the Poetry and Drama of William Butler Yeats,” was drawn from an ACIS award-winning dissertation and published by the University of Notre Dame Press in 2006. Doggett has also been an invited speaker at the prestigious Yeats School in Sligo, Ireland. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and a master’s and doctorate from University of Maryland.<br /> <br /> The lecture is free and open to the public. It is part of the Irish Lecture Series at <br /> Le Moyne, which was created with the support of the Strategic Initiative Fund to celebrate the College’s creation of an Irish literature minor.
