Le Moyne College Hosts Panel on Arts Entrepreneurship

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a panel discussion on “Arts Entrepreneurship: Careers and Cultural Organizations” on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 4 – 5 p.m. in the Curtin Special Events Room, located in the Campus Center.

Three Syracuse arts and cultural entrepreneurs will share their career experiences and discuss the challenges of keeping arts organizations financially afloat: Carol Charles, of the One Village Dance Centre and former director of the Community Folk Art Center; Dik Cool, founder and director of the Syracuse Cultural Workers publishing house; and Steven Kern, director of the Everson Museum. Following their panel discussion, there will be a break-out session so that audience members can join one of them in a smaller group discussion, followed by a final question-and-answer large group session. If you are considering a future in the arts industry, this will be a valuable opportunity to learn more about its possibilities and challenges.

The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Center for Urban and Regional Applied Research (CURAR) and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. For more information, contact tauxecs@lemoyne.edu or call (315) 446-4299.
