911 Calls

All Le Moyne College offices, campus telephones, and student telephones have direct access to the Onondaga County 911 Center by dialing 911. In the event of a true emergency on campus it is recommended that the Le Moyne College Security Office be called by dialing 4444. Security personnel, who are trained and skilled in emergency situations, are capable of responding to campus emergencies prior to emergency services arrival and can communicate the nature of the emergency to responding emergency personnel.

There are few occasions when calls are misdialed to the 911 Center. Once the three digits, “911” is dialed, the call is automatically released to the 911 Center. Should this happen, please do not hang up. This will cause the 911 Center to treat the call as a hang up emergency. The 911 Center is obligated to dispatch a Security Officer or the Police to your location to ascertain if a true emergency exist. If such situation occurs, you only need to explain that the call was misdialed and there is no emergency. The 911 Center may verify this information by calling your number back or notifying the Security Office.
