Authorization Codes

Each of the telephone extensions located on the campus are programmed with a certain access level. Some of these access levels require an authorization code to be entered to allow outside access. Callers will recognize this feature after dialing the desired number and hearing a fast busy signal. After entering the seven digit authorization code the call will continue. Authorization codes are used to account for the long distance usage. Administrative and faculty departments have been assigned and provided with authorization codes for their use. For security reasons, the Telecommunications Office can only provide authorization code information to the department chairs.
