Troubleshooting Telephone Problems


Students should report any trouble or problems they may be experiencing with their telephone or telephone connection, voice mail, or cable TV to the Information Technology Help Desk at extension 4579. Please use the guide below prior to calling the Help Desk.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you are experiencing a problem with your telephone or telephone service, please

  • Check that the telephone cable from the wall outlet to your telephone is properly connected, and that the cable is plugged into the WHITE colored jack on the wall plate.
  • Check that the telephone has not been damaged in any form. If damage is noted it must be reported to the Housing Office.
  • If the telephone should become unplugged for any reason, it must be reconnected to the WHITE colored jack. Any other jack will not work. ORANGE colored jacks are restricted for computer network connections only.
  • If you are still having problems, call the Technology Help Desk at x4579.
