THR 170 Pilates and Core Dance Concepts (3). The exploration and development of movement, body awareness, and physical fitness. Students will be introduced to a basic understanding of movement with the emphasis on alignment and coordination. Through various Pilates and yoga exercises, the student will enhance coordination, control, balance, strength, and flexibility.
THR 275 Modern Dance Technique (3). Explorations of techniques, creative aspects, and theoretical concepts of modern dance including proper body alignment and mechanics of breathing, musicality, and phrasing. Structural improvisations will be introduced, as will verbal and movement vocabulary.
