The Le Moyne Student Dance Company was established in 1995 by two enthusiastic, determined students, Hollis kam and Stacey Gonzales. Through their undying passion for dance, the duo was given access to the classroom in the old Firehouse Theatre, where they shared space with the acting classes, production rehearsals and occasional mice.
Over the past ten years, the Le Moyne Student Dance Company has grown in popularity across campus and has gained college wide recognition. Its success and devoted following has allowed dance to become part of Le Moynes’ academic community. Teaching, learning and presenting from dance disciplines as diverse as hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance has allowed LSDC to present concerts to thousands of students over the years.
Le Moyne offers both dance classes and dance performance ensembles for students of all majors. Student dancers participate in a wide variety of styles from step team to ballet. Ensembles rehearse and perform every semester at the Coyne Center for the Performing Arts.
