What is/was your favorite thing about music at Le Moyne?
My favorite thing about music at Le Moyne is the sense of community. There's something really special about being surrounded by people who love the same things as you. The ensemble, both musically and theatrically, is something that Le Moyne does exceptionally well.

Why is it important to participate in music at Le Moyne?
Sometimes you just need to sing about things. It sounds funny, but it makes the tougher parts of college a little more manageable when you can sing away the stress!

Why do you think other students, current and future, should participate in music at Le Moyne?
Students should take advantage of Le Moyne's many ensembles. It's been one of the best parts of my college experience!

“I didn't think the people involved in music at Le Moyne would be so similar to me, or that I would be immediately accepted into a music group because I was a business major. What is/was your favorite thing about music at Le Moyne?
My favorite thing about music at Le Moyne is the feeling after a great performance. To look back on all the hard work put in and have it culminate to 45 minutes of success is a feeling I'll always be grateful for.

“The most significant think I have learned while participating in music at Le Moyne has been the complexity and diversity of music as a language. This language does not speak with words, but with emotion and imagination. Music has a completely different story and meaning depending on how it is played.”

It is important to participate in music because it offers an opportunity to disconnect from the stress of school and the world around us. It allows me to see the many simple wonders in life that people tend to forget.

Other students should participate in music at Le Moyne because it provides an opportunity to become involved on campus, meet new people, and develop new skills

What is/was your favorite thing about music at Le Moyne?
The most important thing I have learned at Le Moyne is that everyone can participate in music regardless of major, age, gender, etc. Music unites others and serves as a universal language that everyone can understand.

“I love the way music allows us to reach out to each other. We all come from diverse backgrounds and have different majors and goals in life, but when we are together, making music as a group, it is incredibly unifying. Music speaks to everyone, performers and audience alike, and it’s a great reminder that we are all in this together. Music is a wonderful way to share the love."

Why is important to participate in music at Le Moyne?
The knowledge, experience, and talent that the faculty in Le Moyne’s music program has to share is off the charts. They love what they do and it shows! It would be a shame not to take advantage of all they have to offer.

Whether you sing or play an instrument, whether you're into jazz, pop, rock, classical, gospel, or other style of music, whether you’re new to music or an experienced performer, Le Moyne music has a place for you! The program will welcome you, embrace you, and challenge you as you learn from respected faculty and fellow students.

The people in my ensemble became an instant family for me. I found a place to belong, surrounded by new friends who love to sing as much as I do. There are so many ways to get involved with music at Le Moyne. I also do musical theatre and take voice and guitar lessons. It is so much fun and I have met the coolest people!

Why is it important to you to participate in music at Le Moyne?
Music has always been a big part of my life and schooling. Finding a musical home on campus gave me a sense of familiarity and more importantly gave me an opportunity to make my musical mark on campus.

Why do you think students, current and future, should participate in music at Le Moyne?
The arts are stress-free. It’s a creative outlet. It invites you to express yourself in a different way. There are no wrong answers, there are no judgments, and no one is grading you. The arts welcome you. You just have to say hi.

What is/was your favorite part about music at Le Moyne?
Music is a universal language, so even those that aren't fluent understand it. My very favorite part is the connection I have with the audience. I love when I’m singing or performing and I get on one accord with the audience and become so connected that I can't tell who's emotion is stronger...mine or the audience. For a while, we understand each other. That is my favorite part.
