Hailed as a “young, brilliant new superstar,” Jillian Honn serves as the principal oboist of Syracuse’s Symphoria. Honn has attended such prestigious summer music programs as the National Symphony's Summer Music Institute, Sarasota Music Festival, and the Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy where she was a concerto competition finalist and soloist in the Mozart Oboe Concerto with orchestra. In January 2016, Jillian was a featured soloist in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante with Symphoria, and will again be featured with the Mozart Oboe Concerto in February of 2018. In addition to her regular position with Symphoria, Honn has been a guest musician with the New World Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, East Coast Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Tricities Opera, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and more. A recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music where she earned a BM in Oboe Performance, a Performer's Certificate, and an Arts Leadership Certificate under the tutelage of Professor Richard Killmer, Honn enjoys teaching both privately and at Le Moyne and Hamilton College and serving as the music librarian for Symphoria.
