Digital Stories The Changing Economics and Politics of Automation

What is the future of work in a world with artificial intelligence and advanced robotics? How will automation transform society and politics? How can we respond to increasing automation in ways that deliver maximum benefits and create minimum social costs?

Darrell West’s globally renowned understanding of technology, economics, and politics will help us address some of these pressing questions. West is vice president and director of governance studies and holds the Douglas Dillon Chair at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. He is author of 24 books, including The Future of Work: Robots, AI, and Automation.
