Insights from the Heights Webinar Series - Public Speaking: Be Present When You Present
With public speaking causing anxiety for up to 75% of the population, it is helpful to look at steps to alleviate stress connected with presenting. This webinar aims to help us to look at what goes into a presentation and how to best prepare and be present.
As with any foray into the public arena, a mindful, intentional approach to public speaking can ease personal apprehension. If you ensure you are present when you present – take time to look at your objectives, plan, and practice – public presentations are not as scary as they initially appear.
The webinar will be presented by Leslie Bailey Streissguth, associate director in the Office of Career Advising & Development and an instructor wioth the College's Communication and Film Studies Department.
