Please join us at the Humanities Research Seminar, showcasing the scholarly work of the Le Moyne faculty. This event will feature Douja Mamleouk, Ph.D., associate professor of Arabic and French.
Dr. Mamleouk will address this question: How do the most prominent Tunisian women authors map out the masculinity of a post-colonial subject, living under dictatorship for over 50 years and encountering democracy for the first time in 2011? Through her work she examines the array of masculine representations Tunisian women authors construct in their literary texts in order to express dissent with the socio-political status-quo.
