Writer, director and producer Phil Bertelsen will present the first episode of his mini-series Who Shot Malcolm X, currently available on Netflix. Bertelsen, an Emmy- and Peabody-winning filmmaker, has directed episodes of the documentary series The African Americans—Many Rivers to Cross and Finding Your Roots for PBS.

He recently co-directed the NBC documentary special Hope and Fury about Martin Luther King, Jr., the media, and the civil rights movement, and directed the documentary special Through the Fire about the presidency of Barack Obama, now available on Amazon Prime.
