Jean-Philippe Rancy

J.P. Rancy is curious and inquisitive. In fact, Professor Martha Grabowski, Ph.D.., has called his thirst for knowledge "unquenchable." Knowing his interest in how different systems communicate with one another, Grabowski invited him to join her in brainstorming ways to make maritime navigation safer. The duo developed a technology using GoogleGlass that they dubbed "GlassNav." It blends actual reality with virtual reality. Mariners wear glasses that allow them to see the critical information on the numerous monitors before them without ever taking their eyes off of the ocean or sea. At Le Moyne, students like JP experience human moments with innovative technology.
