Le Moyne CAS Dean Costello-Sullivan Named Editor of Irish Studies Series at SU Press

Professor of modern Irish literature and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Kate Costello-Sullivan has been named the new series editor for Syracuse University Press Irish Studies series. The announcement was made on the same day that her new book, “Trauma and Recovery in the 21st-century-Irish Novel,” was launched at the National American Conference for Irish Studies in Cork, Ireland.

“This series is among the most prominent Irish Studies lines in the United States and I’m honored to have been selected for this role,” said Costello-Sullivan.

Founded in 1981 as the first of its kind in North America, Syracuse University Press’s Irish Studies series remains a leader in the field. With a history of publishing monographs not only on foundational Irish literary and historical figures but also on crucial social, cultural, and political issues, the series continues to publish today’s most important and ground-breaking work.

Celebrating its 75th anniversary, Syracuse University Press is committed to serving scholars and scholarship, promoting diverse cultural and intellectual expression, and preserving the history, literature, and culture of our region. In addition to Irish Studies, the press publishes significant and groundbreaking books in specialized fields including New York state, Middle East studies, Judaica, Native American studies, television and popular culture, peace and conflict resolution, and sports and entertainment.
