ESADE Becomes the Official Home of the Madden School of Business's MBA Capstone

Le Moyne's Master of Business Administration program in the Madden School has officially made the ESADE Business School the home of its capstone course. Shown in front of the school are Le Moyne students, faculty and administrators at the Jesuit institution, which is located in Barcelona, Spain.

"This move builds on the existing relationship between the Madden School and ESADE, the third-ranked business school in Europe," said Madden Dean Jim Joseph '83. "Over the past five years, dozens of Madden students have taken part in the ESADE Summer Program and Dr. Josep Franc, dean of ESADE, is a co-chair of Global Jesuit Case Series Editorial Board."

Led by Professor of Management Bernard Arogyaswamy, students took part in a number of activities as part of the week-long capstone course. These include: taking a class on the Anthropocene and Corporate Sustainability; hearing a lecture by an energy expert on pumped hydro as a better method of storage than batteries; sitting in on a Ph.D. class where successful sustainability entrepreneurs and investors made presentations; visiting the fashion and fragrance business PUIG; traveling to the Port of Barcelona to learn about sustainability initiatives, and; participating in a discussion with the worldwide corporate social responsibility officer for the Spanish retailer Zara.

The group also traveled to Manresa (located roughly an hour away), where they met the former Jesuit provincial for the region and retraced the footsteps of St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus.
