    Le Moyne Announces Recipients of Inaugural Impact Awards

    Five individuals have been selected to receive awards as part of the Le Moyne College Arts Administration Program inaugural Impact Awards: Celebrating Arts & Culture. The awards - which will be presented at an event at Le Moyne on Monday, Feb. 24 - offer the community an opportunity to recognize excellent leaders in the arts, including managers, board members, and teachers.

    “Our selection committee, comprised of community members with significant experience in our industry, were incredibly impressed with the pool of nominees,” said Travis Newton, director of the College’s Arts Administration Program. “This year’s recipients were in very good company, and we’re so pleased to recognize their work on behalf of the community.”

    Following a rigorous nomination and selection process, the College announced the five award recipients:

    · Arts Manager of the Year: 
    Sean McLeod, president & CEO, New York Institute of Dance & Education, Kaleidoscope Dance Theatre

    · Arts Board Member of the Year: 
    Bea González, board president, Syracuse Stage

    · Artist as Manager: 
    Jon Garland, musician  and director of operations, Symphoria

    · Arts Educator of the Year: 
    Michelle Matteson, instrumental music teacher, Homer Intermediate School

    · Newcomer of the Year:  
    Joann Yarrow, director of community engagement and education, Syracuse Stage

    Taking place at the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts at Le Moyne College on Monday, Feb. 24, the reception begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the awards presentations at 6:30 p.m. The event will also feature a keynote speech by Jane Chu, former chair of the National Endowment for the Arts.
