Men’s BB Coach Champion Named to Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team

Le Moyne College head men's basketball coach Nate Champion '14 has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team. The team represents 30 of the most outstanding men's college basketball coaches under the age of 30.

Champion, who led the Dolphins to a 19-9 record in his first year on the sidelines, is one of just seven head coaches on the team and the only one at the Division I or II level (five Division III and one junior college). The Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year, Champion guided the Dolphins to their fourth consecutive NE10 Southwest Division title, becoming the first NE10 program to win four straight division titles. Additionally, the Dolphins were selected to their program-record fourth consecutive NCAA Championships berth before the NCAA canceled all championship events due to COVID-19.

In Champion's fast-paced offense, the Dolphins scored 83.0 points per game, the second-best mark in the program's history, trailing only 1994-95's average of 83.5. The team made a program-record 291 three-pointers, recorded a .791 clip at the free throw line (second-best mark) and dished out 15.0 assists (best since 2008-09).

During his four years as a student-athlete, Champion enjoyed a stellar career at Le Moyne, playing a total of 100 games. Read more about the recognition here and see the entire list of coaches at this link.
