Rev. Charles Oduke Named Interim Director of Inclusive Excellence

Rev. Charles Oduke, Ph.D., has been named interim director of the office of Inclusive Excellence and Global Education. In this role, he will work closely with program colleagues, Kuukua Yomekpe and Shadayvia Wallace, to enhance diversity and inclusion initiatives, racial justice efforts and multicultural programming, promote study abroad, and support the College’s international students and global vision.

For the last two years, Father Oduke has served in various capacities at Le Moyne, including advising students in the HEOP and AHANA program, partnering with Inclusive Excellence and Global Education, and serving as a professor of philosophy and the Core. He is deeply steeped in Ignatian pedagogy and Jesuit ethos. Prior to coming to Le Moyne, Father Oduke taught philosophy, social justice, and African Diaspora studies at Boston College and JOOUST. He has worked for nearly two decades in higher education administration and, as a Lonergan scholar, has focused his research and writing on areas of bias, social justice, ethics, and philosophy of liberation. He has lived and worked throughout the world and has mentored countless number of students from various cultures, ethnicities, nations and faith traditions. He received a bachelor of arts in theology from Hekima College in Nairobi and his doctorate in philosophy from Boston College.

The College is very grateful to Father Oduke for his willingness to serve in this interim capacity. A permanent search is planned in late fall for a permanent director of inclusive excellence and global education.
