Chaudhuri Named Director of the Noreen Reale Falcone Library

Lisa Chaudhuri has been selected to succeed Inga Barnello as the director of the Noreen Reale Falcone Library. She will assume the role on July 1.

Chaudhuri has worked at the library since 2010. For her first three years, she was the circulation services supervisor where she managed the department, which encompassed circulation, collection maintenance, course reserves and patron accounts. For the past eight years, she served as the head of public services managing the access services department and overseeing circulation, interlibrary loan, research services, collection maintenance, course reserves, patron accounts and media services.

She has been actively involved on College committees and governance during her time on the Heights, including serving on the Research & Development Committee, the Library Web Committee, the Lectures Committee, the Library Assessment Committee, the Purcell Dean’s Council, the Library Renovation Steering Committee, the Library Outreach Committee and the Faculty Senate Executive Board. She holds a B.S. in history from SUNY Brockport, an M.S. in library and information science from Syracuse University and an M.B.A. from Le Moyne.

Barnello will retire on June 30, bringing to a close a 40-year career at the College. She began in 1982 as a periodicals and reference librarian, and served in a variety of roles before being named the interim director in 2017 and the permanent director in 2018.

“I would like to congratulate Lisa, whose familiarity with the library, its resources and staff will serve her well as she transitions into this role," said Provost Jim Hannan. "I'd also like to extend my deep appreciation to Inga, for the dedication, collegiality and expertise she has displayed over her remarkable career. She will be missed."
