Karin Botto Named Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Organization Development

Following a national search, Le Moyne College has hired Karin Botto as its new assistant vice president for human resources and organization development. Karin comes to the College following a 20-year career at Saint Joseph's University (SJU), a Jesuit institution in Philadelphia. She will begin in the role on Monday, May 2.

"I have spent the majority of my professional life working in Jesuit education, and am looking forward to bringing my experience, knowledge, and deep commitment to Ignatian values to Le Moyne College," Karin said. "I'm excited to join an institution that is so well positioned with a strong leadership team, a compelling strategic plan, and faculty, administrators, and staff who are dedicated to the Jesuit mission."

During her time at Saint Joseph's, Karin worked in a number of areas within the university, including enrollment management, strategic planning, mission, and training and development. For the past three years, she served as executive director of organization development and Ignatian leadership. In this role, she oversaw and facilitated SJU’s Ignatian Leadership Development Program for faculty and administrators. She was also in charge of developing, implementing, and assessing a range of professional development programs including the SJU Management Training Program and a workshop series covering more than 25 topics.

"Karin has unique experience working on an institution-wide basis to integrate the Jesuit mission seamlessly into the human resource and organization development function," said Roger Stackpoole, senior vice president for finance, enrollment and administration. "Much of her focus will be to support Sempre Avanti and to incorporate key initiatives of the plan across the College. There will be increased attention paid to developing more partnerships and cross-disciplinary collaborations between academic affairs, administrative offices and our mission and identity work."

Many at the College are already familiar with Karin, as she led the 2015 Ignatian Day for Professional Development last May. She also has significant experience within the Jesuit network, and has facilitated a number of events within the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU), including seminars and conferences on leadership, mission and identity, and strategic planning.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree from Lycoming College and a master of science degree in training and organization development from Saint Joseph's University.
