Our Stories

Since its founding in 1946, Le Moyne has impressed upon its students the importance of giving back and of serving others. The College has also been the beneficiary of much generosity, most recently on Giving Tuesday, a global initiative dedicated to giving back by mobilizing people around the world to make gifts of support to the causes closest to their hearts.

Jessica Vann is looking to the stars, literally, as she aspires to be an astronaut and if not that, someone contributing to planetary science research and study.

It was the opportunity of a lifetime. Maddy Locastro ’21 spent much of her summer in a lab at New York University’s Grossman School of Medicine, assisting with a study whose aim is to develop primary care strategies for children from low-income families. Locastro’s experience was made possible in large part due to the generosity of another Dolphin, the late William Gottstein ’51, who established a fund to help make it possible for students to avail themselves of internship experiences.

Maddy Locastro is moving faster than the speed of light. However, she does this with a quiet grace that leaves a strong impression.

Diane Colucci '70 is a member of the College's President's Club. Her generosity enables Le Moyne to provide financial assistance to outstanding, deserving students who otherwise might not be able to afford a Le Moyne education; to hire dedicated, engaged faculty who can speak not just to their students’ classroom contributions, but to their dreams; and to offer an enriching campus life that nurtures students’ personal, intellectual and social development.

Nate Giocondo graduated in May of 2019 with a major in Communication and Film Studies and a minor in Marketing.

They are ready. They are prepared. They are serious. They are graduates of Upward Bound, a program housed on the Le Moyne campus that prepares students local high school students for success in college and well beyond.
