Cara Crawley's Next Step: Medical School in South Carolina

Academic Info.: Major in chemistry, minor in biological sciences

    Hometown: Endwell, N.Y.

Beyond the Classroom: Cara was a member of the softball team, Chemistry Club and Beta, Beta, Beta, the biology honors society. She also participated in a service trip to the Bronx.

Next Step: Medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in South Carolina

Long-term Goal: "Ultimately I want to practice medicine in a rural, underserved area."

Le Moyne Support System: "As director of the Health Professions Advisory Committee, Dr. Beth Pritts was extremely helpful when going through the medical school application process. She was constantly answering my emails and phone calls when I had questions. The caring faculty at Le Moyne were very helpful when going through this stressful time."

On Growing: "Le Moyne was my home away from home the last four years. The welcoming community helped me feel comfortable and also helped me grow as a person. Le Moyne has opened my eyes to many new opportunities. Without Le Moyne, I never would have attended a service trip or participated in so many community-service activities. In addition, softball has helped me grow on and off the field, teaching me many life lessons that I will carry with me long after I graduate."

Saying Goodbye: "I will miss the people the most. I have made lifelong friends at Le Moyne."

Advice for Future 'Phins: "My best advice would be: Don't be afraid to try new activities and hobbies at Le Moyne. Reach out to different people and expand your circle of friends. You can never try too many things!"
