    New Year. New Opportunities.

When I made the decision to attend LeMoyne there were so many things I wanted to experience in college. One of the most important things to me was exploring the world. Prior to my trip abroad, I had never even used my passport! LeMoyne has amazing opportunities to spend semesters abroad or even just a few weeks. LeMoyne also offers service based trips and educational trips. I’ve had friends go to Kenya, Ecuador, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, etc. I personally got to experience Italy. Fall of my Junior year I took REL 314 Church vs. State (Professor – Dr. Fred Glennon). This class was amazing and one of the BEST classes I have taken at LeMoyne, and lucky for me, it had a travel component to it. After completing the class, we took a two and a half week trip to ITALY!!! This was the best opportunity for me because the travel component was during the summer and I had a personal commitment to the women’s tennis team during each fall and spring semester. As you can tell by my pictures, this trip was AMAZING and a trip of a lifetime. We spent most of our time in Florence, Italy. While in Florence we visited museums, historical sites, art galleries, and churches with our class. During our free time we had the most amazing food, met the greatest people, ate way too much gelato, and made the greatest memories. We took day trips to Sienna, Cinque Terre, and took an over-night trip to Rome/Vatican City. While in Vatican City went to mass with the Pope and met the officials for the US Embassy for Vatican City. The experiences I made on this trip were priceless! This trip allowed me to experience a different culture, hike along the Mediterranean Sea, drink a glass of wine in the Piazza Square, and so much more. So as you start looking at New Year’s Resolutions and life at LeMoyne, take the opportunity to define your goals and decide what you want to experience during your time at LeMoyne. No matter if you want a service based trip, educational based trip, two weeks abroad or five months, LeMoyne has the perfect opportunity for you. Happy New Year! #dolphins2019 Kristie @kristie_lmc
