Humans of Le Moyne: Samuel Anaya

Samuel Anaya came to Le Moyne four years ago with a sense of purpose, but not sure how to utilize the energy behind that purpose. Le Moyne faculty, staff, and fellow students helped him refine his goals, connect with opportunities, and he graduated in May 2019 with a degree in Accounting. He is excited about the road ahead as he begins working a Ernst and Young (EY) as a Commercial Assurance Associate. EY is one of the Big 4; Sam’s hard work, determination, and drive to connect with opportunities offered through Le Moyne coalesced to bring him to this amazing career launch pad.⁣

While thinking about his time on the Heights, Sam reflects, “As a college, Le Moyne’s focus is to give you the resources necessary to inspire your learning. This includes willing teachers, reading material, office hours, tutoring, etc. As an accounting student I believe that Le Moyne fulfilled its role. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life when I came to Le Moyne. I knew that I was a capable person, but didn’t understand myself enough to push myself in a particular direction.”

It is wonderful Sam was able to understand and benefit from his time at Le Moyne. As far as words for fellow ‘Phins, he says, “Overall, college is what you make of it. You have a responsibility to yourself when you make the decision to pursue higher education to learn, grow, and then contribute your unique energy/spirit to society.”
