    Making a Team Impact

The Le Moyne College Dolphins have welcomed some great new talent in recent years – thanks to Team Impact, an organization that links children with life-threatening illnesses to collegiate athletic programs.

The newest Dolphins are 6-year-old Nathaniel Henry of the men’s basketball team, 5-year-old James Alden of the men’s soccer team, and 13-year-old Lauren Searle of the women’s lacrosse team.

Team Impact’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children with serious illnesses by establishing and expanding vibrant team-based support networks. However, since they began attending practices and home games, these young athletes have served as a source of inspiration for their teammates and coaches.

“I really thought about this program and I think it touches what Le Moyne is all about,” said Steve Evans, associate director of athletics. “Around here service and giving back is something that we do and we do it really well.”
