Humans of Le Moyne: Mia Franko '20

If you’re looking for Mia Franko ’20, you might find her lifting her voice up in song as a member the Jazzuits and Joyful Noise; or giving a prospective Dolphin a tour of Le Moyne in her role as a student ambassador; or listening carefully to the concerns of one of her peers in her capacity as president of the College’s Student Government Association.

Since arriving on the Heights in the fall of 2016, the Johnstown, N.Y., native has made it her mission to embrace every opportunity available to her. And she has succeeded. A communications major with minors in Spanish and psychology, Mia has also participated in service trips to Philadelphia and El Salvador, helped welcome students to Le Moyne as a resident adviser, and taken part in Le Moyne’s Student Alumni Leadership Training program. She has truly found her place at Le Moyne, and learned lessons that she will carry with her for the rest of her life.

“I have made quite the phamily at Le Moyne, and I couldn't be more grateful for that,” she says. “I can easily say that I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the experiences I’ve had and the people I’ve met at the College.”
