After graduating high school in 2011, Maria decided to attend Le Moyne College because of its reputation in the professional community of having a distinguished accounting program. In addition, having been exposed to several graduates, she witnessed how Le Moyne’s education goes beyond academics and extends to an individual’s service to the community. “Meeting many successful professionals whom I respect that received their degrees from Le Moyne College truly showed me the real life impact of a Le Moyne education. After attending Le Moyne, it became apparent to me why the people I met had made such an impact on me and the communities they live in. The diverse, caring faculty stopped at nothing to ensure my personal and professional success, and I am already beginning to receive the rewards of that education as I begin to enter the real world.” Maria participated in campus organizations such as Alpha Sigma Nu, Accounting Society, Institute of Internal Auditors, Institute of Management Accountants, Business Club, the Loyola Companion Leadership Program, Le Moyne College Sandwich Makers, Colleges Against Cancer, and Ignatius Ignite. These clubs and activities both developed her skills and simultaneously contributed to the community. Upon graduation, Maria joined the public accounting firm of Ernst and Young in Syracuse, NY.
