Join us for a screening of Blue Heart, followed by a question-and-Answer session with director Miguel Coyula. Blue Heart (2021) presents an alternative history in which genetic experiments conducted by Fidel Castro lead to the creation of superhuman individuals who ultimately rebel against the state. This premise allows Coyula to engage in a critical exploration of authoritarianism, control, and ideological disillusionment, questioning the utopian aspirations of the Cuban Revolution. Unlike traditional Cuban cinema, Blue Heart offers a counter-narrative that challenges official discourse.
