Why a Graduate Education Degree From Le Moyne?
Whether you are a New York State certified teacher looking to complete your master’s degree or a long-time teacher looking to revamp your career with a certificate of advanced study, Le Moyne is the place to do it.
On the Heights, you’ll find a renowned graduate education program where professors and students are agents of change working together toward a more inclusive world. Our roots in Jesuit tradition teach us that vocation should be inextricably tied to justice. You’ll learn how to best serve your students, and, in turn, create a more just world.
Graduate Education Meets Jesuit Ideals
Our graduate education academic programs offer a variety of degrees based on your interests and professional goals.
Teacher Tuition Relief Program
Le Moyne’s Teacher Tuition Relief Program offers a significant tuition decrease for students in the College’s Master of Science in Education (MS.Ed.) and Master of Science in Teaching (M.S.T.) programs. The new tuition rate is competitive with that at state institutions. In addition: The NYS Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program includes up to $5,000/year for up to four years. NYSUT teachers can often qualify for loan forgiveness programs, like the Perkins Loan Teacher Cancellation Program, by working in low-income schools or in high-need educational areas.
Initial Certification: The Master of Science for Teachers (MST)
If you want to teach but have only a completed baccalaureate degree and don’t have teacher certification, this program is for you. Applicants can select from an inclusive childhood, inclusive adolescent, or TESOL program.
Professional Certification: The Master of Science in Education (MSEd I)
If you hold a current NYSED initial certification and are seeking professional certification in the same field, these certifications might be the path for you. Options include Childhood (Grades 1-6); Adolescent (Grades 7-12); Dual Childhood/Special Education (Grades 1-6); and Dual Adolescent/Special Education (Grades 7-12).
Additional Certification: The Master of Science in Education II (MSEd II)
