Model European Union Conference Offers Immersive Experience

MMEU is an intercollegiate academic simulation that allows undergraduate students to engage directly with the structure and decision-making processes of the European Union. Established in 1993, it is one of the longest-running and most prominent Model EU programs in North America. During the multi-day conference, students represented EU member states and institutions (such as the European Council, European Commission, and Council of Ministers) while debating policy, negotiating with peers, and drafting legislation on contemporary issues facing Europe. Through this immersive experience, participants developed a deeper understanding of EU governance while strengthening skills in research, public speaking, diplomacy, and collaborative problem-solving.
