Feeley ’27 Hired Into Capital One’s Highly Selective Commercial Rotation Program
The opportunities that Dan Feeley ‘27 found at Le Moyne – to apply himself in the College’s Integral Honors Program, to study abroad in Scotland, to serve as an intern at NBT Bank – were central to his academic, professional and personal development. These experiences helped Feeley discover where his interests and talents meet the world’s needs – and prepared him for what is to come. A dual major in economics and marketing, Feeley will launch his career next summer in Capital One’s Commercial Rotation Program, a two-year career accelerator that introduces participants to multiple aspects of the Fortune 100 firm’s business.
Feeley’s time on the Heights equipped him well for this upcoming role. Not only did he learn to evaluate data, run economic models and measure consumer behaviors, but he also cultivated his ability to communicate, collaborate and problem solve in a rapidly changing environment. The marriage of the analytical and interpersonal will serve him well as he builds his career. The Buffalo, New York, native hopes to use his work in banking to help combat economic inequality, an aspiration that closely aligns with Le Moyne’s Jesuit mission of service to others.
I want my professional life to be both meaningful and impactful.”
As he discerned which vocation would best fit him, Feeley worked closely with the College’s Office of Career Advising and Development (CAD), crafting his résumé, honing his interviewing skills and identifying professional connections. Today he uses what he learned there to help other undergraduates as a student ambassador for CAD. Whether he is helping another Dolphin craft a LinkedIn profile or simply offering a word of encouragement, it is a way for him to give back and to reflect on a process that ultimately led to his role at Capital One.
Working with the Office of Career Advising and Development played a huge role in finding my footing, navigating the job-search process and securing this opportunity. If I had any advice for other Dolphins it would be this: Reach out. Make a connection. Hop on a call. It worked for me.”
