Omar Qaqish is a pre-doctoral teaching fellow in English at Le Moyne College and a doctoral candidate at McGill University. His dissertation (“Metacritical Discursive Continuities Across Contemporary Arabofiction”) examines how Arab authors writing in Arabic, English, and French register and respond to discourses of translation, postcolonialism, and world literature. His research areas also include the history and theory of translation; Arabic and Arab-American literature; Arab fiction as literary criticism; Victorian pornography; and the Thousand and One Nights. He has taught writing, literature, rhetoric and Arabic in Canada, the U.S., and Jordan.
