    A Reading by Jan Carson

    Jan Carson is a writer and community arts facilitator based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Carson’s latest novel, The Raptures, was published in early 2022 and shortlisted for the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the YearAward and An Post Irish Novel of the Year Award.

    Her work, which has been translated into more than a dozen languages, addresses a wide range of themes, including Northern Ireland, conflict and post-conflict issues, peace and reconciliation work, community arts engagement, contested identity, Brexit and Europe.

    Carson is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has taken part in literary festivals around the world.

    The reading is sponsored by Le Moyne's Irish Studies Program in partnership with the Consulate of Ireland in New York.
