Le Moyne College was recognized in several categories in the 2021 series of rankings by U.S. News & World Report, which were released on Sept. 14. In the "Best Colleges" list, Le Moyne was ranked #17 in the Regional Universities North category. Colleges are ranked based on a variety of factors, including peer assessment; graduation and retention rates; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; and alumni giving.

The Madden School of Business was ranked #235 in the overall national business school rankings, up 25 positions from last year and placing Le Moyne in the top 10 percent of business schools in the nation. The Madden School was also ranked nationally for three specific disciplines – management information systems (#27), finance (#30) and accounting (#52). Rankings are for schools that are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) with results based solely on surveys of business schools deans and senior faculty members.

This is the 29th consecutive year that the College has been ranked in the popular guidebook. Le Moyne was included on several other lists compiled by the publication (All of these rankings are within the "Regional Universities North” classification.):

· A #8 ranking in the “Best Value Schools” listing. This calculation takes into account a school’s academic quality, based on its U.S. News Best College ranking, and the 2019-20 net cost of attendance for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid; the higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal;

· A #7 ranking for a "Strong Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching." Le Moyne moved up one position over last year's ranking, which is developed from a survey conducted among administrators at universities and colleges about peer institutions within their regions, with schools needing more than seven votes to appear in the ranking.

· In the Most Innovative Schools listing, Le Moyne was #17, up four positions. The list is compiled by asking top college officials to identify institutions in their Best Colleges ranking category that are making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology or facilities.

· A #7 ranking in the “Best College for Veterans” category, up one spot. To be on this list, colleges must have 20 or more students using GI Bill benefits also be certified for the GI Bill and participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program;

The publication designates schools in four major categories – national universities, national liberal arts colleges, regional universities and regional colleges. Le Moyne and other institutions in the regional universities category provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs, but unlike national universities, offer few, if any, doctoral programs.
