Supporting Our Students

Le Moyne College recognizes that we are a community of students, faculty and staff with ties to various regions of the world.  Counseling Services recognizes the traumatic impact that armed conflict can have, even when we are not physically present or directly involved.

The conflict in the Ukraine is undoubtedly impacting the mental health and well-being of our campus community.  Counseling Services extends our support to those affected, particularly those from Eastern Europe, those who have been impacted by war in the past, and those affiliated with the military.

We are here to help students navigate through these difficult times. Please contact us at (315) 445-4195 if you wish to speak to a counselor or use the My SSP app (located on the right side of this page) to connect with someone 24/7.

A Message to Our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander Communities:
The Wellness Center for Health and Counseling stands in solidarity with the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities in the face of the most recent attacks and expressions of anti-Asian bias.  These acts of hate, in the context of the global pandemic, the attack on the US Capital, and acts of racial violence against African-Americans, the Black community, and other persons of color, are undoubtedly impacting the mental health and well-being of our community and Le Moyne  recognizes the pain, fear, anger, and anxiety you may be feeling right now.  Direct and indirect exposure to such events can be  troubling, concerning, and traumatizing and result in many emotional reactions. As always, if you are in distress, please know we are here to help. Students may contact the Counseling Center for support by calling 315-445-4195 or e-mailing us at

Medical Housing/ ESA Policy
The scope of practice and policies of the Wellness Center for Health and Counseling do not include diagnosis, testing, assessment, or verification of the need for psychological/academic/physical accommodations for medical housing or emotional support animals for students.  It is recommended that students seek out their primary care physician or outside therapist to complete this paperwork.

The following external links, as well as others found throughout our site, may provide useful information about topics related to counseling and mental health, study skills and career decision-making. Their listing here, however, does not indicate endorsement by the Wellness Center or Lemoyne College. Additionally, although information and self-help resources can be a helpful adjunct to work you are doing in counseling or in a support group, we do not necessarily recommend self-help as a sole course of treatment. If you are interested in speaking with a counselor, please refer to the other pages in this site for more information about our services.
