Le Moyne Professor to Present Social Science Seminar
Please join us on Tuesday, March 10 at 4 p.m. in the Reilley Room for the third talk in the spring 2026 Social Science Seminar Series. Jennifer Krafft, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology, Le Moyne College, will discuss “The Impact of Mindfulness, Acceptance and Values on Hoarding”
Hoarding disorder impacts 2.5% of the population and is linked to health risks and functional impairment across a range of life domains. However, there are notable barriers to treatment access for those with hoarding problems, including cost, availability, and stigma, and clinically severe symptoms generally persist even after receiving the gold-standard psychotherapy for hoarding. Jennifer Krafft, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology at Le Moyne, will discuss her research on psychological processes that contribute to hoarding (e.g., experiential avoidance, mindfulness, disconnection from values) and interventions that can target those processes while increasing access.
The Social Science Seminar Series is sponsored by the social science departments: anthropology, criminology and sociology; economics; political science; and psychology.
