Dr. Rahim is an award-winning educator, author, entrepreneur, TEDx Speaker, and Fulbright Recipient, celebrated for his extraordinary life story. A survivor of the Cambodian Killing Fields, his journey was depicted in the short documentary “Against the Odds,” which won the F.A.M.E.’US International Film Festival’s 2016 Bronze Award, and the Syracuse Stage theater production “Tales from the Salt City,” part of the acclaimed Undesirable Elements series by celebrated playwright Ping Chong. Overcoming a learning disability in high school, Dr. Rahim went on to earn a Ph.D. in Sustainability from Capitol Technology University and a Doctor of Management (D.M.) from Colorado Tech, teaching at renowned institutions such as Syracuse University, Bellevue University, Claremont Lincoln University, and the Jack Welch Management Institute.
Currently, Dr. Rahim is the Surge Entrepreneurship Manager at CenterState CEO’s The Tech Garden, where he leads the Syracuse Surge Accelerator—the first tech accelerator focused on supporting BIPOC startup founders in Syracuse, N.Y. He is dedicated to fostering inclusive spaces for entrepreneurship and innovation in Upstate New York.
