College Expands Moriarty-Pullano Pathway to the Bronx with $800,000 Gift from Joseph Beck ’76

An $800,000 gift from alumnus Joseph “Joe” Beck ’76 will expand the Moriarty-Pullano Pathway, a transformational initiative designed to bridge financial gaps and fully fund tuition for incoming and current Catholic high school students.

The Moriarty-Pullano Pathway removes financial barriers to higher education while supporting Le Moyne’s strategic plan to expand its brand and reach nationally and globally. Beck’s commitment provides direct, immediate scholarship aid to increase the number of academically ready, high financial need students from the Bronx who attend Le Moyne.

More than 50 years ago, Beck left the Bronx to enroll at Le Moyne. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) in history, he earned a Master of Science in health policy and management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and built a distinguished career in healthcare investment banking. His gift reflects his deep gratitude for his Jesuit education and his vision to pay that opportunity forward.

“Taking a chance on a Jesuit college far north of the Bronx over 50 years ago was one of the best decisions of my life,” said Beck. “The values, discipline and education I received at Le Moyne opened doors for me that I could never have imagined. My hope with this gift is to remove financial barriers so that bright, deserving students from my home borough can experience that same life-changing opportunity.”
