Le Moyne Continues Strong Performance in Annual U.S. News & World Report Rankings

In the 2027 U.S. News & World Report rankings, Le Moyne College was recognized among the nation’s best, placing #14 overall and #5 for Best Value in the Regional Universities North category. The College also ranked #10 for top private colleges in the region, a new category for 2027.

In addition, three programs in the Madden College of Business and Economics were ranked among the “Elite Top 50” in the country, underscoring Le Moyne’s strong reputation for academic excellence and student success. This is the 35th consecutive year the College has been ranked in U.S. News rankings.

“Le Moyne’s strong performance in U.S. News rankings year after year is a testament to the quality of the education and overall experience we offer,” said President Linda LeMura. “This year we continued our distinction of being the highest-ranked, best-value institution in New York state, and one of the highest-ranked, best-value in the Northeast. I am proud that Le Moyne continues to earn the respect and validation of our peers.”

On the national level, the Madden College of Business and Economics was ranked in the top 10 percent of all business schools in the nation. The three programs in the top 50 nationally are:

Le Moyne was included on several lists compiled by the publication (All of these rankings are within the “Regional Universities North” classification.):

  • #5 in “Best Value” – This calculation takes into account a school’s academic quality, based on its U.S. News Best College ranking, and the 2025-26 net cost of attendance for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid; the higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal.
  • #39 in “Social Mobility” – This ranking assessed how well schools graduated economically disadvantaged students and was computed by aggregating two to four ranking factors assessing graduation rates of Pell-awarded students.
  • #3 in “Best Universities for Veterans” – To be on this list, colleges must have 20 or more students using GI Bill benefits and also be certified for the GI Bill and participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Colleges are ranked by U.S. News based on a variety of factors, including graduation rates, social mobility, faculty and financial resources, and peer assessment. The publication designates schools in four major categories – national universities, national liberal arts colleges, regional universities and regional colleges. Le Moyne and other institutions in the Regional Universities category provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs.
